Warning for first-time Iyengar students. If you have never taken an Iyengar class before, I would not recommend starting here. I reached out two days before my class and was very clear that I had never taken this style of yoga, though I understood the general concept. I was offered the morning class. When I arrived, the instructor’s tone was dismissive and he almost did not let me join even though I had confirmed my assistance. Once inside, I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. The other students were kind and helped me get set up, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, in front of the class, the instructor asked if I had never done yoga before and said, “This is not going to work.” I felt embarrassed and singled out. This experience was completely different from any yoga class I have taken before and very different from every other interaction I have had in Thailand. I am sure he is a knowledgeable and skilled teacher, and I truly wanted to learn. However a student with zero classes should not be offered a spot if that level is not appropriate. One of my goals this year was to take a class like this, and I was really looking forward to it being a highlight of my trip. I adjusted my entire day around this class, so being treated this way and effectively turned away was heartbreaking. Sadly, this was the worst and only negative experience I have had in Thailand.

I planed my days-off and went to Chiang Mai to practice Iyengar yoga in 5 days at Tadasan yoga Chiangmai Iyengar yoga. This Iyengar yoga studio is located at a prime location near Wat (temple) Phra Singh in old city. There are parking lots, and some restaurants near the studio. I practiced 7 classes with Khun Kru Sansoen (Tul) who is certified Iyengar yoga teacher. He gave clearly instructions which were suitable for each students in class. I recommend Tadasan yoga Chiangmai Iyengar yoga studio to you guys.(:

Never practiced yoga in my life but I wanted to experience something new while staying in chiangmai so googled and saw many yoga classes in Chiangmai. Each yoga studio seems has unique value such as modern or trendy, but Kru’s yoga studio draw my attention cause of each student’s comments During my six days of journey in Chiangmai, getting to know Kru and taking his classes were my best experience. His explanation was very easy to understand even someone who does not have any experience in yoga. At the end of class my underwear was soaked wet but feeling very refreshed. If I have a chance to meet a certified Iyengar yoga teacher like Kru, I will keep practicing yoga back in Korea Thank you

Samsoen has been a very lovely teacher. Iyengar traditional style, a very good way to improve your asanas, but what's even more important: be aware about the smallest details. Samsoen guides you gently but always helping you to get a bit further. I highly recommend if you want to improve your technique and if you would like to learn yoga in a more tradional way.
